Stretching along the route of the former Limerick to Tralee railway line, the Limerick Greenway is a beautifully restored, off-road walking and cycling trail that winds through the heart of West Limerick’s scenic countryside. Spanning over 40km, this traffic-free pathway connects the towns of Rathkeale, Ardagh, Newcastle West, Barnagh, Templeglantine, and Abbeyfeale, offering a peaceful, accessible experience for visitors of all ages and abilities.
With six main access points strategically located along the route, you can explore the Greenway in its entirety or enjoy shorter sections that suit your schedule. Whether you’re planning a family day out, a weekend adventure, or a solo escape into nature, the Greenway is designed to accommodate walkers, cyclists, families with young children, and those with limited mobility.
